Nerf Recon by Indefiknight Nerf Recon by Indefiknight
Been a while since the last time I touched a Nerf gun, but some friends of mine wanted me to go to a larp called Aftermath where they use these things in game. Figured I would throw something together and see how it survived the weekend. Couple of dings here and there but as you can see the paint job came through without much damage.

As usual, Sanded down offending logos, then taped up and sprayed the gun down. Had to use what I had on hand, green believe it or not, but I washed it with black from my mini's paint and then dry brushed it with the same latex silver I used on the Maverick. Actually it's pretty much the same paint job as on the Maverick but I figured I'd throw this one on here either way.

You need to start with a black base coat, a textured black spray paint works well here. Take care when spray painting to cover up any parts that show internal workings with something, masking tape perhaps. I would take some silver acrylic paint after that with a flat headed brush, wiping of the excess paint on a piece of paper till it seems like it stops coming off. Lightly brush the gun then and the silver should pick up the raised surfaces on it. Start of very light and then gradually brush heavier till it looks how you want it. It takes some practice to perfect but that's how it's done.
